Volunteer Drivers required for the following areas:-
North West, Luton, Hemel Hempstead or Aylesbury
North East, Chelmsford or Bishop Stortford, Basildon
South East, Maidstone, Canterbury
South East London
Could you spare a few hours a week to transport our patients from their home to hospital appointments?
We are looking for dedicated Volunteer Drivers to become part of our non-emergency patient transport team and provide a professional caring service for all patients whilst in the care of Falck UK Ambulance Service.
As a volunteer driver you would help to improve experience for patients who have to travel to and from hospital for treatment. Volunteer drivers offer practical and convenient transport for patients who are able to walk, but need transport to and from their homes, hospitals, clinics, and other health premises.
Volunteers don’t need to have any previous experience, just a caring attitude and a friendly and willing disposition. There is currently no minimum amount of time required from our volunteers, so whether you are able to be involved once a month or several times a week, please get in touch.
Volunteer Drivers must have:-
· A Full UK driving licence, held for at least 3 years
· No more than 6 penalty points
· own or provide a 4-door vehicle not more than 5 years old in a clean and suitable condition for the carriage of patients
· A current valid MOT certificate (if required)
· Valid insurance for the nature of work
· Excellent local knowledge of roads
You will be provided with the following training:
Basic First Aid
Using and managing your handheld Android/PDA
In return, we will reimburse your mileage at 45p per mile, round trip from your home.

Due to the range of patients you may encounter, you are required to complete a mandatory DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. We operate both enhanced Adult and Children checks for this role in line with our compliance
